How do I change to a status automatically after receiving a payment?

Automatically Changing Reservation Status After Payment

ReservationKey allows you to automatically update the status of a reservation when a payment is added. This can be useful for streamlining your workflow — for example, changing a reservation from New Request to Confirmed once a payment has been received.

Step 1: Open the Status Settings

Go to the Settings tab.
Select Status.

Step 2: Configure Automatic Status Changes

In the Status section, you will find two options for automatically changing reservation statuses:

After Online Payment: Changes the reservation status immediately after a guest makes an online payment (via your booking page).
After Internal Payment: Changes the reservation status as soon as you manually record a payment inside the system.

Step 3: Select the New Status

From the dropdown next to each option, select the status that should be applied automatically.
For example: Change to “Confirmed” after payment is made.
Click Save Changes.

Example Scenario

Suppose your default status for new bookings is New Request. You can configure the system so that once a payment is received — either online or internally — the reservation automatically changes to Confirmed or Checked In.
