How to set a minimum stay within a Rate Adjustment.

Setting a Minimum Stay Using Rate Adjustments

In addition to setting minimum stays directly within rate rules, you can also define temporary or seasonal minimum stays using the Rate Adjustments feature. This is especially useful for holidays or event periods where you require longer stays.

Step 1: Open Rate Adjustments

  1. Go to the Properties tab.
  2. Click Rate Adjustments.
  3. Click Add Rate Adjustment to create a new adjustment, or edit an existing one.

Step 2: Configure the Adjustment

  1. Enter a Description for your adjustment (e.g., “February Holiday Minimum Stay”).
  2. You do not need to modify rates unless you wish to change pricing during this period.
  3. Under Minimum Stay, set the required number of nights (e.g., 4 nights).
  4. Select which Days of the Week the rule applies to (e.g., Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday).
  5. Enter the Date Range during which this rule should apply (e.g., February 1 – February 10).

With this setup, any booking that includes the specified days within the date range will require the chosen minimum stay.

Step 3: Apply the Adjustment

  1. In the Apply To Rate Plans section, select the rate plans that should follow this rule.
  2. Click Save Changes.

Step 4: Verify on the Calendar

Return to the Reservation Calendar to confirm that the adjustment has been applied. Minimum stays appear as orange numbers on the calendar.

For example, in February, you’ll now see a “4-night minimum” indicator during the holiday period you defined.

Summary

Using rate adjustments makes it easy to apply temporary stay rules for holidays, peak seasons, or special events without changing your main rate rules.
