How to View Booking Page Search Activity
The Availability Search report helps you analyze guest activity on your booking page — including what dates guests are searching for, which links they are using, and how often those searches lead to actual reservations. This can provide valuable insights into demand patterns and booking behavior.
Accessing the Availability Search Report
- Go to the Activity tab.
- Click Availability Search.
- Select a date range — for example, the last 30 days — to view recent activity.
This report displays all searches performed by guests on your booking page within the selected date range.
Understanding the Report Data
Each row in the report represents one guest search and includes the following information:
- Search Dates: The arrival and departure dates the guest searched for.
- IP Address: The visitor’s IP, which can help identify repeated visitors or track sources of traffic.
- Booking Page Link: The specific link (URL) used to access the reservation page.
- Search Outcome: Indicators such as:
- Minimum Stay Not Met – guest selected fewer nights than allowed.
- Cut-off Date – guest tried to book too close to arrival.
- Sold Out – no rooms were available for the requested dates.
- Reservation Result: Color coding indicates if the search resulted in a confirmed reservation.
Using Color Coding
Color-coded results make it easy to see guest behavior at a glance:
- Green – The search resulted in a reservation.
- Red – The search could not be completed due to restrictions (e.g., sold out or minimum stay not met).
- Gray – Informational searches without a booking.
For example, a guest may first search for three nights, see the rates, and then complete a reservation for those exact dates — all of which can be tracked in this report.
Tips for Using This Report
- Check regularly to see which dates are being searched most often — this helps identify high-demand periods.
- Review searches where guests could not book due to minimum stays or cut-offs to adjust your settings if necessary.
- Use this data to plan promotions or rate adjustments around popular search patterns.
