How to Split a Multi-Room Reservation into Separate Reservations
If a guest initially booked multiple rooms under one reservation, you can easily split those rooms into individual reservations. This is useful when different guests in the group need their own confirmation or billing details.
Steps to Split a Reservation
- Locate the reservation on your Availability Calendar or from the Reservations tab.
- Click the reservation to open its Details Page.
- Click Change.
- Select the specific room(s) that you want to move into a new reservation.
- Click Break into New Reservation.
This creates a new reservation using the same rooms, prices, and dates as the original. The system automatically copies over all applicable details.
Editing the New Reservation
- Once the new reservation has been created, update the Guest Name and any other details that differ from the original booking.
- Click Save to finalize the new reservation.
Verifying on the Calendar
Return to your Availability Calendar and you’ll see the original multi-room booking has now been divided into two (or more) separate reservations:
- The new reservation (for the room you split off) appears in one color (e.g., green).
- The original reservation remains in its original color (e.g., yellow).
Summary
- Open the multi-room reservation and click Change.
- Select the rooms to separate.
- Click Break into New Reservation to duplicate pricing and dates.
- Edit guest details for the new reservation.
- Both reservations will now appear separately on your Availability Calendar.
This feature helps simplify group bookings by giving each room its own reservation record while preserving all pricing and date information from the original booking.
