Rental Agreement Check-in / check-out policies: Arrivals: between 3-8 pm. If you anticipate a later arrival then please let us know in advance. Room vacancy and check-out: by 11am. (Necessary due to room prep time for next guests.) You are however very welcome to leave luggage in the hall if you want to spend more time in the area. Booking & Rate Policies: All rates based on double-occupancy, unless offered or stated otherwise. If you will be having more than two guests in your room, there is an additional charge of $35 per night for each guest. . Visa, Master Card or Am-Ex are required as reservation confirmation. A $100 deposit is required to reserve rooms with the balance payable on arrival. All rates subject to Ct State Room Tax.

Best Available Rate Policy: Every guest reservation is both important and special to us so please understand our policies are a necessary part of managing a small Bed and Breakfast Inn and cancellations can effect us significantly.
Cancellations must be made by an acknowledged e-mail not via phone. Voice mail (answering machine) messages do not constitute cancellation confirmation.
We will be happy to return your deposit when applicable, less a $25 cancellation fee, if you provide more than 7 days notice of your cancellation. Major holidays or group bookings (3 or more rooms) require 60 days. Within 7 days (or 60 days on group bookings or holidays) you are responsible for the entire reservations charge. If however we are able to resell ALL nights reserved 24 hours in advance of your check in date, then we will only charge a $25 cancellation fee. Cancellation upon day of arrival, "no shows" or early departures, are also responsible for ALL nights reserved.
The Connecticut River Valley Inn does not take responsibility for changes to your reservation due to inclement weather, unforeseen changes to travel plans, personal sickness or injury, or family emergencies.
If you are worried about having to cancel for any reason, we recommend you purchase travel insurance through a third party for your own financial protection.
Events have a separate cancellation policy for your event: A deposit of $200, $500 or $1000 depending on the size of your event is due at time of reservation of events space. This deposit is non-refundable 7 days after receipt. Balance is due 30 days prior to your event. We must have a valid credit card on file.
Children: We welcome children 10 years or over under normal parental supervision in any of our guest rooms. If your child is over 5 years of age but under 10 years of age, please note this in your reservation. The River of Dreams room is the only room that allows children under 5 years of age. There is no charge for children under 5 years unless they require their own bed then it will be our regular additional guest fee.
Please call if you have any questions concerning reserving with a child under 10 years of age.
Meals: A full breakfast is included in the rate. Special dietary needs can happily be catered for with a minimum of 72 hours notice.
Smoking: We are a non-smoking and non-vaping property. For the health and safety of our guests, smoking and vaping is not permitted anywhere on the premises, and a minimum $300 cleaning fee is imposed for smoking and vaping inside the house. Additionally, we do not have designated outdoor smoking or vaping areas. Your complete cooperation is expected.
Pets: We love animals (we have 2 well behaved Papillions!) and can now accept pets in the River of Dreams room. This is our only pet-friendly room. Please select "Puppy Pass" if your pet will be spending the night with you in the River of Dreams room.
Damage: We accept accidents can happen and are used to dealing with these situations with good humor. If you do have an accident please let us know at once as it is much easier and often less expensive to deal with spillages etc right away. Damage that has been concealed or found after departure will be charged at cost of repair plus any loss of income from room rental if applicable.
