I typically stay at chain hotels when traveling for work, but the other reviews I saw online, along with the fact that I need a kitchenette for medical reasons, convinced me to try Island Acres. It is absolutely wonderful! The property is set among lovely, large trees, adjacent to the river, it is quiet, and the room was spotless, with every amenity I needed, including excellent wifi. The vintage kitchen table and chairs reminded me of my youth, and check-in/check-out were simple and smooth. I recommend Island Acres in the strongest possible terms!

You will not be disapointed. Unless you do not like being able to sit comfortable on the porch and enjoy the quiet shady evening Ultra clean and comfortable. Very friendly Plenty of room for you and your dog to frolic

Over the past ten years, we have stayed at Island Acres whenever we take the dogs hiking around Gunnison, CO. They have always been a comfortable,clean and restful place to stay. They are welcoming to people who travel with dogs and the grounds provide space to walk the dogs. They have a laundry on site and the motel is near many beautiful hiking areas. It is my go to place whenever we decide to hike in the area.

We love staying at Island Acres Resort & Hotel and have done so for many, many years. The owners are so accommodating and make everything easy to access. Our grandchildren love that 4 wheel bike (or uber as we call it). The kids enjoyed hauling the adults around on it.

I can’t say enough about how awesome this motel is. Love the “retro” feel of the decor but above and beyond all that, this place sparkles and shines with so much CLEAN! That to me is probably the most important aspect!! Don’t hesitate to book your stay here! The price is right and I love supporting a local bs a chain.

We discovered Island Acres on our honeymoon trip from Ouray back to Denver. Love the 50's decor. Rooms are comfortable with small kitchens to prepare your own meals. The river is close with walking trails. Love the center courty area with tables and benches and classic 50s kids "rocking" horses. The staff and owner are so welcoming and accommodating. This was our second visit and due to some moving delays we had to adjust our nights and Pam was so wonderful and understanding that it made it possible for us to stay here our second time and not miss a night Highly recommend for couples and families!

I just wanted to let you know that I really appreciated the one-on-one communication. Your location is beautiful. The rooms are vintage, yet cozy and clean. We always enjoy our stay there.
