Also, (we love this!) you can enjoy watching planes zoom right over your heads as they take off/land @ the Gunnison airport. The motel is from the 40s/50s style architecture; clean, organized with a gorgeous bunch of trees all over the complex! We get the full kitchen unit & it's spacious; not your usual tiny motel room.

Really liked the resort; well maintained, peaceful and convenient. Pricing is very competitive. Reminded me of my early day in Gunnison and Almont, before all of the "wealthy" discovered the Gunnison Cointry.

My big family, 8 adults & 5 kids (ages 18months up to 15), stayed here in June. The large cabin was 3 beds, 3 baths, a lovely dining/front room and an adorable classic kitchen. And the second cabin was a smaller two bed 1 bath with a cozy kitchenette. Plus, the grass areas were perfect for our kids and dog to play! Not only are the accommodations so comfortable and clean, the staff we crossed paths with were so kind and it felt like we were old friends. I can not recommend Island Acres enough. We will be making this an annual visit for SURE!

We are repeating visitors to Island Acres. This motel is very dog friendly with a lot of room surrounding it to walk your dogs and facilities to even wash off dogs too. It is a clean and quiet oasis for those coming to enjoy the many physical activities nearby. The motel has a laundry service on site. The motel is close to restaurants and a grocery store and not a long car trip to Crested Butte. I highly recommend Island Acres as a place to stay for young families, hikers and dog traveling people.

Wonderful place. Great location that is quiet and peaceful. Brought our dogs and used the Critter Sitters up the road 2 min for affordable day care while we played on the river/Blue Mesa. Close to town and easy out to Blue Mesa! Very clean and very well appointed kitchenette!! So glad we chose this location!!

We had a great time there this past weekend. The room was the perfect size and so cute! Very clean! The park outside with shade provided us with a chance to make s’mores. The customer service and kindness of staff was so welcoming! We will stay there again everytime!

Unit 7 was excellent. A roll of paper towels would have been nice. Also could not find where to take out the trash? We will return next time we fish Blue Mesa.

Been coming here for 28 years and it provides a very homey and quiet resort setting with lots of charm. Plenty of room for kids, boats and pets.

We are always thrilled with our accommodations at Island Acres. The hosts are kind, helpful and attentive. The suites and rooms are clean and comfortable and the area is quiet and beautiful.

I chose to staycation @Island Acres Resort while in between housing. I once was a neighbor to the resort and knew it was well cared for by Pam & Tim. Beautifully situated adjacent to the Gunnison River, surrounded by cottonwood trees & short drive to the heart of the city of Gunnison CO. Great rooms w/kitchenettes. Quiet & charming, feels like home or a place you visited as a kid! 5 stars is too few. Enjoy this Gem!

Our stay at Island Acres could not have been more perfect. The rooms are large, comfortable, and extremely clean!! The property hosts were very accommodating and provided ideas for sightseeing and making our travels memorable. If you are in the Gunnison area, we highly recommend staying at Island Acres....you won't be sorry!!!

This was our second time to have a family gathering at Island Acres. The cabins are clean and well stocked with clear directions on where to find items. So close to Gunnison in case you forget something but yet far enough away that you don’t feel like you’re in a city. Close to Blue Mesa Lake. Plenty of outdoor seating, picnic tables and friendly, helpful managers. Also I had clear communication about check in and check out. We will definitely make a return visit.

Island Acres certainly exceeded my expectations for what a motel could be. The room was clean and comfortable. Since the motel is pet-friendly, I was able to bring my dog. There is a walking trail along the river just across the road, and we were able to take daily walks to enjoy the scenery. Would definitely stay here again if I'm ever in Gunnison!

Hi we really enjoyed our stay. The room and accommodations were exactly as described, if not better!

I come to Gunnison to float fish the area streams and have stayed in several places, but Island Acres Resort is my favorite. I love the covered sitting area and the yard with the campfire. The rooms are very comfortable and have cooking facilities. The location on the edge of town is like being in the woods but close to town .

Our suite was great for what we were there for. A relaxing, efficient, place to enjoy the beautiful amenities of the Rocky Mountains & the Gunnison River. Good proximity to town without traffic noise, nice for resting between mountain adventures.

4th year in a row for the wildflower festival and we simple prefer to stay at our home-away-from-home.

As frequent visitors to the Gunnison area, we always enjoy the convenience of staying near town while still close to Blue Mesa and Crested Butte. The vintage rooms are perfect for my wife and I. They are always clean and we like having the kitchenette even though we didn’t cook any full meals. Will definitely be back (again)!

Cabins have been updated and look great! Pam and her husband are very accommodating to our needs when reserving the cabins. The cabins have everything you need. You don't need to take bedding, towels, etc. Kitchen utensils, pots, pans, dishes, etc. are all supplied. The best place to stay in Gunnison is our opinion!

I have repeatedly stayed at this wonderful little motel for work over the past year, and it is consistently spotlessly clean and quiet, and the owners are very kind and responsive to my every need. I almost don't want to let the secret out, as it might be harder to get a reservation. :-) Very highly recommended from a very experienced business traveler!!

My family and I have been staying at Island Acres on our trips to Gunnison for over 12 years. We have never stayed anywhere else that has such a relaxing, home like feel. The rooms are always spotless and we love the retro decor. The location is quiet nestled in a large grove of cottonwood trees. It was wonderful being able to sit on the covered porch during our last visit and look up into those huge trees. The fall colors were beautiful . For us, island Acres isn’t just a place to stay, it is a place we look forward to spending time during our vacations to Colorado. If you're looking for a simple and quiet place to stay this is the place. No check-in or out required. Parking is right outside the door. The room was clean and I slept well in the bed.

Excellent family owned motel. Old Route 66 style vibe. Clean, well-appointment rooms in a great location tucked down in the trees. I spent 3 days fly fishing on the Gunnison River, & Island Acres was within 15 min of great access.

Great area of town, quiet and cozy and will definitely plan another stay in the future. Room was spacious, clean and liked all of the kitchen amenities. Price for 2 nights was awesome!!
