Terms and Conditions
RATES:
All rates are based on double occupancy per night, and include breakfast. There is a $30/night charge for each additional person, regardless of age. Rates are subject to change without notice, but the rate that was in effect at time of your reservation will be honored for your stay. All lodging and additional food & beverage, is subject to the prevailing Maine State Sales Tax in effect at the time of your arrival.
DEPOSITS/PAYMENTS:
A deposit in the amount of the first night's stay, per room, is due at the time of reservation and will be taken via credit or debit card. Any balance will be due at check-in. We accept AmEx, VISA, MasterCard, and Discover credit and debit cards; Diners Club is not accepted. Personal checks or PayPal payments may be made by pre-arrangement, and cash is always welcome!
MODIFICATIONS/CANCELLATIONS:
Because our inn is small, we adhere to a strict cancellation policy, and ask that you please let us know as soon as possible if you plan to cancel or modify your reservation.
Cancellation notice before 7pm EST on the 14th day before the reservation date will have the full deposit refunded less a $25.00 service fee. Canceling after this time will result in a forfeit of the deposit. If your reservations fall on a holiday or special event, or if you have reserved multiple rooms, a 30-day cancellation notice is required.
Cancellation notice on the day of your arrival will be treated as a "no show" below. Please also note that no changes to your reservation will be conducted without email confirmation.
NO SHOWS:
A no-show or a notice of cancellation on the day of arrival, will result in your debit/credit card being charged in full for the balance of the reservation.
SHORTENED STAYS:
Departing earlier than your planned departure date will not result in a refund of the balance of your reservation, unless we are able to rebook the room.
MINIMUM STAYS:
A 2-night minimum stay is required for reservations that span a Friday or Saturday. This is waived for reservations made within 7 days of arrival. A 2 or 3-night minimum is required for reservations that occur during special events, certain dates and holidays. Examples of these include the Fryeburg Fair, leaf season and the Christmas holidays. The online booking calendar will indicate these minimums.
SMOKING:
We are a smoke and tobacco-free Inn. A $300 cleaning charge may be levied to any guest found smoking/chewing within any of the Old Saco Inn buildings. Should you wish to smoke or chew, please do so outside the buildings where ashtrays are provided for the smokers. Please do not litter and please do not smoke near the buildings, the forest, the woodpiles, or other non-smoking guests.
CHILDREN:
Well-behaved children are always welcome, but since guests come to the Inn for peace and relaxation, noisy, boisterous, ill mannered, crying, or otherwise unmanageable children may be asked to leave. We do not have cribs or high-chairs and do not provide special meals for children.
PETS:
As much as we love pets, we are unable to accommodate pets in certain rooms, so please check our website or call to see which rooms are pet friendly.
CHECK IN/OUT TIMES:
Check-in time is normally between 3pm and 7pm, but we can make other arrangements if you let us know in advance. Check out time is by 10am on the day of departure. We are open year-round.
RIGHT OF ADMISSION:
We reserve the right to refuse access to the property, lodging or service to anyone. This is, after all, our home.
RESPONSIBILITY:
You, our guest, accept that The Old Saco Inn is not responsible for the loss, theft, or damage to your personal property, possessions, or vehicle/s, from anywhere on the property. (If you would like us to secure your valuables at any time, we do have a small private safe that you may use). You further indemnify The Old Saco Inn for any injury to your person or persons in your party while on the property.
Use of any of the Inn's equipment (e.g. kayaks, snowshoes, golf clubs, etc) is available to all guests, however the Inn is not responsible for your safety during the use of any of the Inn's equipment.
ALCOHOL:
We are a licensed establishment and subject to the Maine State Liquor laws. You are welcome to enjoy alcohol purchased from the Old Saco Pub anywhere within the public areas of the Lodge, but are not permitted to consume outside/private/personal alcohol on the premises.
ACCEPTANCE:
Your reservation deposit paid to the Inn indicates your acceptance of all the Terms and Conditions contained herein. You will be presented with a liability waiver at the time of check-in, and a copy of these terms & conditions is available in each guest room.
