Reservation and Cancellation Policies (2026) Reservations: A deposit equal to one night's stay is required and will be credited towards the balance of the reservation.
Groups or Multiple Room Reservations: In the case of a multiple room reservation or group, a deposit of one night for each room will be charged.
Check-in/Check-out: Check-in is 3pm. Please note that the motel doesn't have regular office staffing. Our residence is upstairs so if we're not in the office please ring the bell so we know you're here. If we're off-site we will leave a message on the door with an expected return time. However, this will not affect your ability to check-in. Look for a text from us with the keycode to your room. This text will also serve as notification in the event that your room is ready earlier than 3pm. Additionally, if you'd prefer a contactless check-in, this text will allow you to enter your room without having to stop by the office. Don't text? Check-out is before 10am. If you request an early check-in or late check-out we will do our best to accommodate your request however it's not always possible to do so.
Arrival Date: Upon your arrival date, you are responsible for and will be charged the remaining balance, if any, of all reserved nights and rooms. We accept Visa, MC, Discover, AmEx, Venmo, cash and personal checks with ID.
Pets: IMPORTANT NOTICE REGARDING A PET POLICY UPDATE Beginning 2026 our motel will no longer accommodate pets. This decision was made to ensure a consistent, clean and comfortable experience for all guests. If you have already booked a reservation with a pet and staying without your pet isn't possible, you may choose to cancel your reservation without penalty and receive a full refund of any deposit. Ask us for recommendations of nearby pet-friendly accommodations. Service animals, as defined by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), will continue to be welcome. While we love animals, emotional support animals and pets are not classified as service animals under ADA guidelines. We did not make this decision lightly and appreciate your understanding as we make this change to improve the overall guest experience. Your comfort and satisfaction remain our top priorities.
Smoking: All rooms are non-smoking rooms. Smoking, burning or vaporizing any substance including marijuana in a room is prohibited and will result in additional charges to the cardholder. While smoking is permitted in our outdoor common areas, we ask guests to be considerate of non-smoking guests and to properly dispose of cigarette butts. We ask that if you're traveling with marijuana you store it inside of your vehicle to prevent the odor from permeating the room. If your room is left with the odor of cigarette smoke and/or marijuana the responsible party will be charged $250 to cover our loss of income (we cannot rent a room with odor) and the additional cleaning on our end to eliminate the odor.
Damages or missing items: Damages or missing items will be the responsibility of the cardholder at full replacement cost plus lost revenue if any. Guest and/or cardholder further agrees to compensate the Channel Lane Inn for reasonable labor and material costs necessary to bring the room and its contents to a normal operating level.
Cancellation Policy: For cancellations more than 10 days prior to arrival we will refund your deposit minus a $25 cancellation fee. For cancellation of all or part of your reservation less than 10 days prior to arrival your deposit will be held as a cancellation fee. Cancellation on the day of arrival or no shows will be charged the entire reservation amount. We accept one night stays only on a prepaid non-refundable basis and may not be changed for any other date. Exception is made for cancellation of winter reservations (December, January, February) when 24 hour notice of cancellation due to weather is accepted.
We are a small family business and any cancellation affects us greatly.

Use this to protect your vacation investment against unforeseen cancellation, or changes due to a variety of maladies or emergencies, which might include illness, acts of God, etc.
