Blackfoot River Outpost Policies
Cancellation Policy:
We ask that you cancel at least 2 weeks (14 days) in advance to get a full refund. Anything after 14 days is non-refundable, but may be used as a credit towards a future booking.
Check-In / Check-Out:
Check-in starts at 3:00PM on the date of booking. Check-out is at 11:00AM.
Early check-in & late check-out requests may be accommodated depending upon availability. Guests shall also
have the option to extend their stay, additional charge and fees will apply, and is dependent
upon availability. Check-in / Check-out information will be provided in an email attachment
upon receipt of total payment. *Please note that event contracts work on different time frames.
Entrance Codes:
Entrance codes are issued to the registered guest only. Do not share entrance codes with more
people than necessary. For your safety and privacy, and that of our future guests, please
maintain the secrecy of the codes issued to you before, during, and after your stay.
Non-Smoking Facility:
For safety and to assure that our facility is not exposed to items or actions that create an odor
which is unhealthy and objectionable to our guests and staff, and that is difficult to remove from
the air, carpet, walls, and furniture, we do not permit smoking inside any building including the
cabins and the main lodge.
Pets:
We allow up to 2 dogs in each cabin or campsite. We do not allow any other type of pet on the
property. There is an additional Pet fee of $25 per cabin and $5 per campsite. Please keep in
mind that there may be other dogs around at any time. If any guest’s dog causes any issues
with other guests or other dogs they will be asked to leave. Evidence of any damage done by
dogs inside and/or outside of any building or structure may result in an additional fee to cover
damages.
Housekeeping:
There is no daily housekeeping service. While linens and bath towels are included, daily maid
service is not included in the rental rate.
Accessibility and Accommodations:
There are no elevators, and some Lodge areas are not wheelchair-accessible. Summer access
(after winter snow has melted) is available by four-wheel-drive road to the river bench and
other areas of the property.
The Blackfoot River Outpost welcomes all guests and works actively to make reasonable
accommodations for people of all abilities.
Damage and/or Theft:
You are liable for any damage however caused (whether by the deliberate, negligent, or reckless
act) to the room (s), premises or property caused by you or any person in your party whether or
not staying at the property during your stay. Blackfoot River Outpost reserves the right to retain
your credit card and/or debit card details as presented at registration and charge or debit the
credit /debit card such amounts as it shall in its sole discretion deem necessary to compensate
or make good the cost or expenses incurred or suffered by Blackfoot River Outpost as a result of
damage or theft. Should this damage come to light after the guest has departed, we reserve
the right and you hereby authorize us to charge your credit or debit card for any damage
incurred to the property during your stay, including and without limitation for all property
damage, missing or damaged items, smoking fee, cleaning fee, guest compensation, etc. We
will make every effort to rectify any damage internally prior to contracting a specialist to make
the repairs, and therefore will make every effort to keep any costs that the guest would incur to
a minimum.
Lost or Stolen Items:
The Blackfoot River Outpost is not responsible for lost or stolen items. We will do our best to contact you about any lost items that we may find. You are responsible for shipping if we attempt to send items back to you. The Blackfoot River Outpost is not responsible for items lost in the mail.
Parking:
All vehicles must park in the designated parking lots only. Absolutely no parking along the
highway. Guests will be held responsible for any damage done to Blackfoot River Outpost
property from violation of these parking terms. All vehicles are parked at the risk of the owner.
Blackfoot River Outpost shall not assume liability or responsibility for any vehicle, occupants, or
contents while operated or parked on the property.
Trash:
The Blackfoot River Outpost is in bear country. To keep animal issues at bay, please keep all
attractants inside cabins, vehicles or in certified bear-safe containers. Do not leave food or trash
outside overnight including on the grill or anywhere else. Dispose of all food scraps and trash in
the main bear-safe dumpster by the entrance gate.
Dishes:
Dishes, utensils, kitchen cookware, and other items are available in each cabin for your
use. Please return them to the cabin they originated from before check-out.
Gas Grills and Fire Pits:
Please remember that gas grills and fire pits are sources of fire. All valves on the propane tank
and grill shall be closed when not in use. Propane tanks will be provided for the grills. Fires are
allowed in designated fire circles or fire pits only (local fire restriction dependent). Please
ensure that all fires are put out completely before left unattended.
River & Grounds Hazards:
This is a mountain property and as such can be dangerous. Exercise caution when roaming the
grounds and by the river. Roads and trails may be steep and icy. Four wheel drive vehicles are
recommended during winter months. Wild animals may be present on the property and
surrounding areas at any time.
WiFi Access:
Access to our WiFi is free for our registered guests. WiFi signals are not guaranteed.
Fireworks:
Fireworks are not permitted on the property at any time. Violation will result in an immediate
$500 fine charged to the card of the registered guest as well as possible eviction without refund
of the entire rental party.
Quiet Hours:
Exterior quiet hours are from 12:00 a.m. to 9 a.m. If congregating outside during these hours,
please keep voices and music at a respectful level. If you are renting the entire property quiet
hours may be modified on a case by case basis.
External Security Cameras:
There are external security cameras installed on the Property. There are NO cameras located
inside. The cameras are installed to protect the Property from potential theft, for maintenance,
and for monitoring purposes. Video footage may be reviewed at any time. Do not obstruct or
tamper with any of the external security cameras.
Water & Septic:
Please conserve water whenever possible. This property utilizes a septic system for wastewater.
The septic system is very effective; however it may clog up if improper material is flushed. Do
not flush anything other than toilet paper (i.e. feminine products should not be flushed at any
time).
Utilities:
Outages in basic utilities such as electricity can occur by mechanisms beyond our control. No
refunds or compensation will be given for any such occurrence.
Raft Rentals:
The Blackfoot River Outpost has a river rental business in conjunction with LB Snow, our store in
Missoula. Raft, inflatable kayak, SUP and tube rentals may be rented out of the Blackfoot River
Outpost. The rental operation is kept in the loop next to the highway and should not interfere
with any event held on the property.
Hunting & Fishing:
No hunting of any kind is permitted anywhere on Blackfoot River Outpost property. No cleaning
of game animals is permitted anywhere on Blackfoot River Outpost property. Violation will
result in an additional clean-up fee. Please dispose of all fish entrails immediately in the main
dumpster by the entrance gate. DO NOT leave them outside, it will attract bears.
Firearms and Weapons:
NO WEAPONS ALLOWED REGARDLESS OF CARRY PERMIT.
The safety and security of our guests and staff is extremely important to us. Our Firearms and
Weapons Policy is designed for the protection of our guests, vendors, staff, and owners, and
pertains to the presence of firearms and weapons on Blackfoot River Outpost premises.
Guests, who are lawfully permitted to possess a firearm or weapon, may bring such onto our
premises for storage purposes only, with the understanding that they are personally
responsible for the following:
● Guests must abide by all Federal, State, and local laws.
● Firearms and weapons must be appropriately registered.
● Firearms must be unloaded
● No cleaning of firearms is permitted on premises.
● Firearms and weapons must be safeguarded and secured in either a locked, hard sided
firearm container or a soft gun case provided by the guest at all times and clearly
labeled with their name and contact information.
Guests and vendors who fail to abide by our policy may be asked to leave the premises, are
subject to trespass and may be subject to further legal action. No exemption to this policy is
allowed for private persons, even those licensed and permitted to carry a firearm openly or
concealed under local, state, or federal law..
Right to Refuse Service:
The Blackfoot River Outpost is privately owned and operated. We reserve the right to refuse
service to anyone for any reason(s) that does not violate Federal or State laws. The Blackfoot
River Outpost will refuse to admit or refuse service or accommodation or may remove a person,
without refund, who refuses to abide by the reasonable standards and policies established by
the State of Montana and the owners for the operation and management of the property.
Blackfoot River Outpost will refuse service or evict a guest: for refusal or failure to pay for
accommodations, is under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or any other intoxicating substance
and acts in a disorderly fashion as to disturb the peace of other guests or is not in compliance
with state liquor laws; acts in a disorderly fashion as to disturb the peace of other guests or
staff; is unable to properly supervise their children at all times, seeks to use the property for an
unlawful purpose; seeks to bring into the property: an unlawfully possessed firearm; or
something, including an explosive or hazardous or toxic substance, that is unlawful to possess
and that may be dangerous to other persons; destroys, damages, defaces, or threatens harm to
property of guests or staff; causes or permits persons to exceed the maximum allowable
occupancy, refuses to abide by the reasonable standards or policies established by Blackfoot
