This applies to all reservations reserved on this website or directly with us using our website (www.islandgoodes.com). Long term stays 20 to 30 nights maximum will use a different policy. Call 808-964-2291 for more information.
Due to Covid19, some amenities have changed. Please do not rely on passed reviews/pictures on other sights (TripAdvisior, 3rd party websites/review sites). Everything that is written on this website is accurate and should be used as what is offered as amenities. If it is not listed on this sight, then most likely it is no long available. We cannot change our 3D Tour of our rooms at this time. You will see items that are no long available due to health and safety reasons. If you have questions, please call us at 808-964-2291.
All Reservations are non-refundable: We no longer refund reservations if canceled for any reason. However, we do offer a 1 year voucher to rebook your stay. If you are concerned about the possibility of cancelling your reservation, we recommend you purchase travel interrupt insurance through a third party for your own financial protection.

ISLAND GOODE'S POLICIES
We know that you want your trip to be the best it can be, and we have tried to keep our rules as simple as possible, but it seems over time it grows. Please take a few minutes to familiarize yourselves on how we manage the workings of Island Goode’s to get the most out of your stay. Please do not rely on other websites/review sites (especially TripAdvisor), search engines, and pictures for correct information about Island Goode's. Our website (Policies tab) is the only source for correct up-to-date information concerning amenities, breakfast, policies, and restrictions. When in doubt, call us...808-964-2291
Minimum two-night stay. Room rates are figured with double occupancy (2 persons).
Registered Guests Only: For the safety of our other guests, only registered guests are allowed to be in your room or are allowed to be on the property. Please be prepared to show us your charge card and I.D. upon arrival or anytime during your stay. One car is allowed per room. Rooms cannot surpass the occupancy that is listed on this website. You are more than welcome to do business via your computer from your room. We do not allow persons or friends of guest to physically come for visits or anything that is work relative. Any person-to-person business/visiting needs to be done off the premises. This is for the wellbeing of our other guests and to keep everyone safe during these times. We do not allow subletting of rooms for any reason or adding a person into your room that has not already been confirmed on your original reservation.
Maximum Room Capacity: Room capacity is for the safety of all our guests. Because of the strict fire codes and County regulations, we must enforce our policy on this. Please do not come with extra persons over the maximum room capacities, we will have to turn away the extra person/s and they will have to find other accommodations elsewhere, unless we have an opened room available at that room's price. Please do not count on us having an extra room open when you arrive. Please do not email us on this issue. You can call us, but we will make no exceptions to this policy verbally or by email. There will be No Refunds if you arrive with extra persons that go over our maximum capacity and then decide that your entire party wants to relocate because of this policy. You will be charged for the entire stay with no refunds.
Child Policy: Children are restricted (below 18 years). Please do not come with children or you will have to find other accommodations on your own and you will forfeit all monies with no refunds.
Pet Policy: No Pets allowed
Taxes: All rooms are subject to Hawaii's 17.97% tax, which includes transient accommodation tax (TAT) 13.25% and general excise tax (GET) 4.72%.
Confirmation: Total payment must be paid in advance. A confirmation will then be emailed to you by Island Goode's. The email will have a confirmation number, arrival date, departure date, total cost of reservation.
THE CONFIRMATION DOCUMENT IS VERY IMPORTANT. WITHOUT THIS DOCUMENT, IT WILL MAKE IT VERY DIFFICULT FOR YOU TO HAVE A SMOOTH EASY SELF CHECK-IN. PLEASE BRING THIS ARRIVAL CONFIRMATION DOCUMENT WITH YOU FOR AN EASY SELF CHECK-IN. THE CONFIRMATION MAY TAKE SEVERAL HOURS TO ARRIVE AT YOUR EMAIL BOX. PLEASE CALL US AT 808-964-2291 IF YOU ARE CONCERNED WITH YOUR RESERVATION/CONFIRMATION OR YOU HAVE NOT RECEIVED YOUR CONFIRMATION.
Check-In: Check-in is between 3 pm to 12 mid-nights. We are not able to accept early arrivals or hold your baggage. We are limited on the time needed to get rooms ready and are limited on storage space.
Check-Out: Check-out is at 11 am. We are not able to accommodate late check out because of the time needed for changing out rooms for the next guest arriving. We cannot hold baggage for later flights. We are very limited on storage space. If you intend on extending your stay, you must have a new reservation with confirmation number, and payment in full. Please be advised, you have 15 days to claim any items left behind from the date of your departure. After the 15 days if items are not picked up, we will dispose of them.
Smoking/Burn Rules: “No Smoking” is now a State Law in Hawaii. We take this very seriously. Also, NO burning of anything in the rooms or outside such as matches, candles, incense, mosquito coils, etc. NO SMOKING/BURNING IN ANY ROOMS OR OUTSIDE OF ROOMS IS ALLOWED INCLUDING ELECTRONIC CIGS OR VAPES. We have trade winds blowing most of the time on the Island, so smoke can travel in and around the facility and enter other rooms. If you smoke/burn in your room you will be charged a $250.00 per occurrence for a special cleaning fee, this will be debited from your credit card on file. If you smoke/burn outside of your room and not in the designated smoking area (driveway entry), you will pay $100.00 fee. This will be debited from your credit card on file. If it occurs a second time in your group/party (inside or outside room), you will be fined again and will be asked to leave. Do not throw into any trash containers or flush down the toilet any smoking products, cigarette packages, butts, ashes. If you need to smoke, take a walk, and go to the driveway entry or beyond. Two chairs are there for you comfort as well as a butt/ash can trash dispenser. You agree and agree to pay, if you are asked to leave or you decide to leave, you will forfeit all monies charged for your stay and any fines incurred for smoking as we (management) decide. By signing this agreement, you are agreeing and giving us athorization to apply charges to your credit card on file for damages and loses.
Damages: Damage to Property/Rooms/Lost Room Key Transmitter: We understand that there is normal wear and tear: however, if there is damage to the property/room above what we would consider normal wear and tear, then we reserve the right to charge you for any damage in the rooms or on the property that we consider damaged property. Lost room key or transmitter will be charged $100.00. Upon arrival, we will need a copy of your I.D. and Credit Card. By signing this agreement, you are agreeing and giving us athorization to apply charges to your credit card on file for damages and loses. Please let us know as soon as possible of any problem/accident that you have had on the property or in your room. No washing of anything in the rooms, in the bathtub or sink: clothes, dishes, equipment, or anything. Physical damage to our tubs and showers and water damage to flooring and furniture is our biggest concern. Let us know if you need help.
Non-Refundable Reservations: If you have booked a discounted price, non-refundable with no modification/date changes (NRR), then there is no refund amount for ANY REASON (canceled/missed flight, illness). You are expected to arrive on the arrival date with no exceptions. We highly recommend purchasing Trip Insurance through a third party for your own financial protection if you are concerned about a canceled fight/missed flight or illness. From our own personal experience, we highly recommend World Nomads.
BOOKED THROUGH OUR WEBSITE: NO OVER-THE-PHONE CANCELLATIONS: ALL CANCELLATIONS MUST BE DONE IN WRITING (EMAIL) OR IN PERSON. We will then email you back a CANCELLATION CONFIRMATION or a NEW confirmation showing your new dates along with the total cancellation amount. If you have not received your NEW Confirmation or Cancellation within one business day, please check your junk email box or call us to confirm that you have not received your cancellation or date changes. You must have a Cancellation Confirmation emailed from Island Goode's, or your reservation has not been changed or canceled. If you cancel any of your stay when you are here, there will be no need for an email cancellation confirmation to be sent.
IF YOU BOOKED YOUR RESERVATION WITH A THIRD PARTY (Expedia, Hotel.com…etc.), please do not call Island Goode's. You will need to call them direct to cancel your reservation.
Travel Interrupt Insurance: It is a good idea to buy travel interrupt insurance from a 3rd party. If you need to cancel your reservation, you would normally be able to get a refund on your travel and accommodations. If you are traveling and someone were to become ill or injured, this insurance would normally cover the costs of your existing reservations and monies spent for other accommodations and airfare. Some policies will cover emergency Air-Evac and other special needs. From our own personal experience, we highly recommend World Nomads.
Third Party Cancellations: Cancellation Policy with Booking Engines/Third Party Booking Sites: If you booked a room though another booking source (Expedia, Hotel.com, etc.), you must cancel or change your reservation with them directly. You will be subject to a stricter cancellation policy (Non-Refundable Deposit, Pay Up Front Non-Refundable Reservation - No Modifications/Date Changes). This is because they are normally giving deep discounts or packaged deals. You will be able to cancel your reservation, but you will NOT receive a refund from us or them. This policy is listed on these search engine websites (read their fine print carefully) and we are bound by contract with them, so there is nothing we can do for you if you decide to cancel or change your reservation dates with them for any reason. If you cannot justify these deep deals for a nonrefundable or no dated change reservation, then we HIGHLY recommend you purchase travel interrupt insurance through a third party for your own financial protection. We recommend World Nomads insurance. We have a less strict cancellation policy if booked through our website or booking directly with us by calling (808-964-2291). REMEMBER, IF YOU BOOKED WITH ONE OF THESE SOURCES, YOU MUST CALL AND CANCEL OR CHANGE YOUR RESERVATION DIRECTLY WITH THAT BOOKING SOURCE IN ORDER TO CANCEL/CHANGE YOUR RESERVATION.
Terminate Agreement: Island Goode’s bed and breakfast reserves the right to terminate the balance of any guest’s stay without refund for any unruly behavior that causes management or other guests physical or mental discomfort, or that disrupts the operation of Island Goode’s bed and breakfast for any reason, and at our discretion (not following written or oral directions, misuse of appliances and property, raucous behavior, abusive language, and uncontrolled outbursts). Guests asked to leave will be charged for the entire reservation. Other fees may be assessed related to missing or damaged property, cleaning fees, loss of room use fees as appropriate and determined by Island Goode’s bed and breakfast. By signing this agreement, you are agreeing and giving us authorization to apply charges to your credit card on file for damages and loses. Local authorities will be called to remove all occupants from the property if you do not pack up your belongings and leave the premises immediately when asked by management/owners.
Cancellations Special Conditions:
Hurricane/Storm Policy: Hurricane season is from June to November. The Big Island has never had a hurricane hit the island in recent history. We suggest travel interrupt insurance through a third party for your own financial protection if you are worried about the possibility of a hurricane/tropical storm interfering with your travel plans to Hawaii/The Big Island. We recommend World Nomads insurance. Our Island Goode’s Policies will apply.
Lava Flow Policy: We are in one of the safest lave zones (hazard 8) on the Big Island, hazard 9 being the safest. We are below Mauna Kea which is a dormant volcano and has not erupted in 4,700 years. We suggest travel interrupt Insurance through a third party for your own financial protection if you are worried about a volcanic event that might concern you. We recommend World Nomads insurance. Our Island Goode’s Policies will apply.
The Merrie Monarch Festival: There is a five-night minimum stay required during the Merrie Monarch Festival period and special rates apply. For cancellations of reservations during the Merrie Monarch Festival up to 90 days before arrival your deposit will be returned less 25% of the entire reservation. 90 days from arrival, we will debt your credit card on file for the final balance and at this time your reservation is non-refundable with no date changes. 90 days from arrival, departing early, arriving late, or not showing up will be charged for the complete reservation. All deposits can be made with a Visa or MasterCard. We HIGHLY recommend that you purchase travel interrupt insurance through a third party for the Merrie Monarch Festival for your financial protection. We recommend World Nomads insurance.
Acts of Terrorism, Invasive animals/Insects/ Pandemic that could cause health problems: These conditions are out of our control. We suggest travel interrupt Insurance through a third party for your own financial protection if you are worried about these problems and they concern you. We recommend World Nomads insurance. Our Island Goode’s Policies will apply.
