George's recommendation to view the stars in the field was the best! We went both nights. We saw the Milky Way and a shooting star. Pretty amazing sight for two city dwellers!!

We absolutely loved our long weekend away at Cave Hill Cabin. The cabin itself is just as beautiful as it looks in the photos—perhaps even more so when you add the smell of pine from the gorgeous interior and the crisp breeze from the woods just outside. The acres and acres of nature that Mr. and Mrs. Carr so generously allow guests to explore are indescribable in their beauty. Our toddler and two pups roamed and played until they could barely keep their eyes open. We cannot wait to return again soon.

We would like to thank George and his wife for their kindness and hospitality and for sharing their home with us. We would also like to thank them for allowing us to bring our dog Winston with us since he is such a big part of our family. Our stay at the lodge was so much more than we expected. It was beautifully decorated, very clean and furnished with everything we needed. We enjoyed walking the trails and exploring the cave and just sitting by the old barn and taking in the view. Peaceful,tranquil,calm = SO SERENE!! This mini-vacation is what we needed. My husband and I left so relaxed and rested. We will definitely be returning to the lodge. Thanks again!! We were very impressed with Cave Hill Cabin...it had everything we needed and was very neat and clean. We totally enjoyed our stay!

We had a great time at the cabin. We were lucky enough to have great weather while we were there. We enjoying sitting out on the deck, the fire pit and the overall tranquility of the property. We hope to stay again sometime.

Cave Hill cabin is an absolutely beautiful cabin in a secluded location with the added bonus of being easy to get to. We had a wonderful and relaxing stay. My girlfriends and I do a weekend trip twice a year and this is definitely one of the nicest places we've stayed. The owners are very nice and were quick to respond to all our emails. I look forward to, and am already planning on, staying here again.

We absolutely loved staying in the cabin at Cave Hill! We walked with our dogs around the large fields every morning. We enjoyed exploring the cave and watching the storms come in across the open skies. The cabin felt like home to us and we hope to come back soon. George was such a kind and helpful host! We couldn't have asked for a more relaxing time away to celebrate our 7th wedding anniversary!

Enjoyed 4 night stay at Cave Hill in May 2014. The site is very remote but GPS and the directions provided got us there with no problems. The road in is rough and we were happy for our Subaru. The setting is beautiful. Followed directions to the cave and long range views. This is a good location to explore Amish country, covered bridges, antique stores and Civil War sites. If you want a fabulous dinner out you are not far from the Murphin Ridge Inn which we found to be a wonderful treat.

I have stayed at the Lodge three times, and it is such a beautiful and relaxing experience that I never want to come home, and neither do my two dogs. Surounded by nature, there is no lack of wildlife and tranquility. I've seen deer, wild turkeys, raccoons, turtles and other woodland creatures, while walking the woods and right outside the windows. The lodge has all the amenities a person could ask for, and I will definitely be staying again. Thank you!

We had a great time, George! Thanks so much! Your lodge is beautiful. Perfect little getaway for a few days over Spring Break to spend some time with the kids. We had a blast playing games all night and making memories that will last a lifetime.

We really enjoyed this quiet get-away to read and write and relax. There is plenty of room and the grounds are pleasant to explore. The fireplace was well used. It's a dry county, so bring your own! Definitely want to come back!

Wow! We leave here a changed people. Truly I can only speak for myself. Love it here. Have resolved that I could live here. I would have to seek out some human interaction. The peace is consuming. The beauty immense. The sounds refreshing. Thank you for the reviving of my soul.

Arrived Friday for our American Independence weekend! It's ever-so-dark out here and we spotted 3 satellites crossing our little patch of sky. Up early to drizzle and light rain which did not stop us from driving over to Davis Memorial for an amazing hike in the woods. It's grand to drive along the back roads in Adams County! Evening walk to the field -- sighted a doe grazing at the edge of the woods beyond the vineyard. It's amazing what George has accomplished. Sunset at the vineyard is so peaceful. Fireworks all around in the distance. Happy Birthday America!

We came here as Rachel May and Brian Gould and we are leaving as Mr. & Mrs. Brian Gould. This was an AMAZING place to have our wedding. Between Mr. Carr's amazing craftsmanship and the beautiful nature it was PERFECT for us.. Brian and I are very outdoors/nature/cabin people and we wanted our wedding to reflect us. And did that. My dream wedding would have been up in Canada @ our cabins up on the island, but since that's a 16 hour drive and this was a 2 hour drive more family was able to join us. And without even having to say anything to that fact -- EVERYONE that has been to our cabins said "This feels just like the family cabins." It was just amazing they even said the road felt just like it too :). All in attendance complimented the beauty of the cabin. We will certainly be back because of all Cave Hill Lodge has to offer.

I know what peace is; it's like being in the cupula.

For the past two years we have celebrated our Christmas together in this beautiful cabin. We spent our "time" enjoying "time" together . . . . The boys went caving, a trip to Miller's for fresh baked Amish goods, dinner at the diner, crafts with the kids, and watching everyone play with their Christmas gifts. We anticipate this time together every year and once again had an awesome and memorable time. Thank you for sharing this place with us.

Absolutely beautiful -- the lodge and surrounding woods. Woodwork in your lodge is gorgeous. We came to make music and relax. This is the perfect setting for both endeavors. Thanks for opening the lodge to others. PS -- the lodge has absolutely stellar acoustics!

Six sisters on our yearly weekend vacation. This is the most beautiful house, unique and gorgeous settings, we've ever stayed. Had a wonderful time walking in the woods, sitting on the deck, looking at the stars, and just relaxing. Hope to come back one day to this peaceful retreat, to see more deer, butterflies and turkeys.

A very unique experience for 4 from California. We cam to visit family and friends and left with wonderful memories of the beauty of Ohio. Everything we needed was here or nearby . . . a laundry area would have made it exceed Excellent! [laundry since added -- the innkeepers].

What more could we ask for -- lovely home-away-from-home. Well-equipped kitchen, beautiful interior and furnishings and enough windows to bring the outside in. Privacy, wooded location . . . everything we have longed to find. Saturday found us at Miller's [Miller's Amish Bakery]. Ah - apple fritters right from the oven and still warm - melt in your mouth! Returned for a walk to the field to enjoy the view and explore. Wondering who built the log barn and how long ago did they settle here. Saw so many butterflies and a box turtle. Sunday morning awoke early to nature's alarm clock . . . "gobble, gobble, gobble". Looked out the window and saw a "Tom" turkey calling for a mate while he fanned his tail. Joining in the quest were three does grazing right in front of the windows. Renewed & refreshed. Sadly, we prepare to depart -- longing to return.

Had a beautiful Spring weekend -- so many wonderful surprises -- a field of daffodils, a pond, owls in the silent night. Thank you -- we hope to be back again!
